Editorial Standards & Corrections Policy
How Aether reports the news, verifies facts, and corrects errors.
Our Commitment
Aether is committed to accurate, fair, and transparent journalism. This page explains our editorial standards, how we handle corrections, and how readers can report errors or concerns.
1. Editorial Mission
Aether publishes original news and informational content for a general audience. Our goal is to inform readers with clear, carefully reported stories that are factual, timely, and clearly labeled. We prioritize public interest, accuracy, and accountability over speed alone.
Our editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, and commercial partners. Newsroom judgment is not for sale.
2. Accuracy & Fact-Checking
Before publication, our editors and writers take reasonable steps to verify material facts. Depending on the story, this may include:
- Confirming key claims with primary documents, official records, or firsthand reporting
- Cross-checking information against reputable secondary sources
- Seeking comment from relevant parties when fairness requires it
- Reviewing headlines, captions, and social summaries to ensure they do not overstate or distort the story
We distinguish between verified facts, attributed statements, and analysis or opinion. Unverified rumors are not published as news.
3. Sourcing & Attribution
We prefer named, on-the-record sources and primary materials whenever possible. When information comes from another publication, agency, or public document, we attribute it clearly.
Unnamed Sources
Anonymous or confidential sources are used only when the information is important to the public interest, cannot reasonably be obtained on the record, and the source’s credibility can be assessed by an editor. We do not grant anonymity to shield attacks or unverified claims.
Quotes & Context
Quotes should reflect what was said accurately and in fair context. We do not fabricate quotations or alter meaning through selective editing.
4. News, Opinion & Sponsored Content
Readers should always be able to tell what kind of content they are reading:
- News reporting presents verified facts and attributed information.
- Analysis / commentary / opinion is clearly labeled and reflects the author’s interpretation or viewpoint.
- Sponsored, partner, or advertising content is disclosed as such and kept editorially separate from independent news coverage.
We do not present paid promotional material as independent editorial reporting.
5. Editorial Independence & Conflicts of Interest
Editorial staff must avoid conflicts that could compromise, or appear to compromise, independent judgment. Writers and editors should disclose relevant personal, financial, or organizational relationships that could affect a story.
Advertising, affiliate relationships, and other commercial arrangements do not determine what we cover or how we frame coverage. Where a story involves a sponsor or commercial partner, we disclose that relationship when material to the reader.
6. Artificial Intelligence & Automated Assistance
Aether may use digital tools, including artificial intelligence, to assist with research, drafting, summarization, translation, or editing. All published editorial content is reviewed by a human editor before publication. AI tools do not replace editorial responsibility for accuracy, fairness, or corrections.
We do not knowingly publish fabricated sources, invented quotes, or deceptive synthetic media as authentic reporting. If AI-generated or significantly AI-assisted content is used in a way that could mislead readers, we disclose that use.
7. Corrections Policy
We correct errors promptly and transparently. Silent removal of an inaccurate article without explanation is not our practice when a factual error has been published.
Types of Remedial Actions
- Correction: Used for a factual error. We correct the text and add a clear correction note stating what was wrong and what has been changed.
- Clarification: Used when wording was ambiguous or incomplete in a way that may have misled readers, even if not strictly false.
- Update: Used when new information materially advances or changes a developing story. Updates are dated when significant.
- Retraction: Used in rare cases when a story or a major claim cannot be substantiated and should no longer stand. A retraction notice explains the reason.
How Corrections Appear
Significant corrections are noted on the article page, typically near the top or bottom of the story, with the date of the correction and a brief description of the change. Where technically available, we also update the article’s modification date.
Response Time
We aim to review correction requests within 1–2 business days and to publish confirmed corrections as quickly as practical after verification.
8. How to Report an Error
If you believe a story on Aether contains a factual error, missing context, or another editorial concern, please contact us with:
- The article title and URL
- A description of the alleged error
- Supporting evidence or sources, if available

General Contact
You may also reach us through our Contact page or [email protected].
We review good-faith reports seriously. Submitting a request does not guarantee a correction; we verify claims before changing the record.
9. Reader Feedback & Complaints
Beyond factual corrections, readers may contact us about fairness, labeling, disclosure, or other editorial standards issues. Constructive feedback helps us improve. Threats, harassment, or bad-faith campaigns are not a basis for editorial changes.
For privacy-related requests, please see our Privacy Policy. For legal notices unrelated to news corrections, use the contact channels listed on our Contact page.
10. Accountability
Published articles should identify the publication and, where available, the author or editorial team responsible for the content. Questions about ownership, mission, and who we are can be found on our About Us page.
This Editorial Standards & Corrections Policy applies to news and editorial content published on Aether. We may revise this policy as our practices evolve; the date below reflects the latest update.
